Lesya explains why she decided against a management position and working in the press office. She emphasizes that she didn\u2019t just want to serve, but actively chose to fight. Her field of work in the armed forces is aerial reconnaissance. She has learned new skills in handling drones and says that she enjoys this work.<\/span><\/p>

Lesya says that she did not prepare for the war in advance, did not take any practical courses and did not engage in purposeful physical training. But her passion for sailing in civilian life (she has a captain\u2019s license and has crossed the Atlantic) helped her to perform well while serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>

Lesya advises not to despair if your physical training is not of a high level at first, because the most important thing is the desire to be useful in the army and protect the Motherland. The physical form can be brought to the required level later. Lesya admits that she now feels the inefficiency of using her time in the military and believes that this is a systemic army problem.<\/span><\/p>

She notes that the Ukrainian army lacks personnel and is convinced that it is necessary to attract women to the army; the state should regulate and determine the place of women in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
